Tyra II commissioning is progressing, and several ongoing remediation actions are taking place including the replacement of the damaged equipment. As these efforts continue and considering the speed with which it is possible to remedy the facility whilst producing the Tyra field with satellites simultaneously, the ramp-up period is extended until the end of the year. 

As Tyra II commissioning progresses additional natural gas volumes come online and variable minor volumes will be exported to Denmark subject to operational occurrences.

In addition to the REMIT issued May 6, 2024, TotalEnergies EP Danmark A/S, the operator of the Danish Underground Consortium, informs that additional operational occurrences continue to impact the commissioning of the Tyra II Facilities. Findings so far indicate that the commissioning and further ramp-up of the production from the new Tyra II Facilities will continue into the 4th quarter of 2024. ​

Several ongoing actions are being taken to mitigate the issues. While these remediation steps are in progress, efforts related to testing and commissioning continue with an aim to partially resume production from Tyra II during the summer of 2024. ​

As a result of these efforts, the Harald field is expected to resume production shortly. The Harald gas production will initially support the Tyra commissioning and hence only minor additional export volumes are expected.

The findings so far indicate that the commissioning and further ramp-up of the export and production from the new Tyra II Facilities will most likely continue into the 4th quarter of 2024. ​

During the first phase of the mitigation plan, which has now been initiated and due to the necessary operational changes in the commissioning and testing program, export volumes to the Danish gas market will be affected. As the objective remains to safely and efficiently resume production from Tyra II whilst ensuring minimal environmental impact, there will from time to time be minimal residual export volumes associated with the commissioning works, which will flow to Denmark. These volumes are residual flows from the commissioning, where small volumes of natural gas from the Dan hub flow through Tyra II for commissioning and onwards to the export system. These volumes do not reflect the available capacity or production volumes. ​

The testing program and continuous efforts in achieving the technical milestones associated with the preparation of production indicate that the ramp-up from 0 mcm/d Available Capacity to 8,1 mcm/d Technical Capacity is currently expected to take 4 months from the restart, depending on operational performance of the redeveloped Tyra. The ramp-up period could be shortened or prolonged.

Technical capacity does not translate into actual production as this will be depending on the progress achievements during the ramp-up period as well as the operational uncertainties associated with resuming production.

the next important step achieved, as the first gas molecules have entered the pipeline connecting Tyra II to Denmark on March 21, 2024.

This initial filling of the pipeline is with gas not intended for the market but instead used as part of the commissioning and packing of the pipeline prior to export of first gas.

The restart of the Tyra Facilities will continue to require variable volumes of gas to be consumed as commissioning progresses and prior to the first gas exported to Denmark.

The project progress to date indicates, subject to the remaining level of operational uncertainty, that arrival of first gas export flowing through the Tyra hub to the Danish market

will most likely occur between 26-31 March 2024.

The testing program and continuous efforts in achieving the technical milestones associated with the restart still indicate that the ramp-up from 0 mcm/d Available Capacity

to 8,1 mcm/d Technical Capacity is expected to take 4 months from the restart of production.

The preparation for the restart of the Tyra Facilities will require a variance of gas volumes to be consumed for a period of 5-12 days. These volumes are not expected to reach the Danish market.

The project progress to date indicates, subject to the remaining level of operational uncertainty, that arrival of first gas flowing through the Tyra hub to the Danish market will most likely occur

between March 21-31, 2024, after repressurization of the pipeline from Tyra to Nybro.

An important next step in this final leg has been achieved as methanol loading has commenced on March 12, 2024.

The project progress to date indicates, subject to the remaining level of operational uncertainty, that the restart date of the Tyra Asset allowing for arrival of first gas from Tyra to the Danish market is expected in the second half of March, most likely between March 21 – 31, 2024.

However, restart could still, depending on project progress, be influenced by operational uncertainty and to that effect, we will continue to update the market accordingly.

During the ramp-up period, capacity variations may still occur, and such variations may impact the ramp-up period. 

The project progress to date indicates, subject to the remaining level of operational uncertainty, that the restart date of Tyra Asset allowing for arrival of first gas from Tyra to the Danish market on 31 March 2024 remains valid. However, restart could, depending on project progress, be reached earlier in the second half of March and to that effect, we will continue to update the market accordingly.
